Job description

The Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality are met in the assembly of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), cable harnesses, and wiring assemblies. This role also involves inspecting, testing, and documenting electrical and electronic components to guarantee products meet specified requirements and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

PCB Assembly (Through-Hole and SMD)

• Inspect and verify the quality of through-hole and surface-mount device (SMD) assemblies, ensuring all components are correctly soldered and placed.

Cable Harness and Wiring Assembly

• Inspect and test cable harnesses and wiring assemblies for correct routing, pinning, insulation, and functionality.
• Ensure compliance with wiring diagrams and assembly instructions, and verify correct crimping, stripping, and terminations of wires.
• Conduct electrical testing and troubleshooting of cable assemblies to meet customer and industry specifications.

Electrical & Electronics Components

• Verify the quality and authenticity of incoming electronic components (resistors, capacitors, ICs, etc.), ensuring they meet both manufacturer specifications and required standards.
• Inspect components for proper labeling, part number verification, and absence of defects.
• Document and track discrepancies and non-conformances for future reference and corrective action.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed inspection records, test results, and quality control reports.
• Generate and present regular quality control reports, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and areas for improvement.
• Document corrective actions and preventive measures for recurring quality issues.

Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify areas for process improvement, contributing to cost reductions, enhanced efficiency, and reduced defects.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for identified quality issues.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of PCB assembly processes (both through-hole and SMD).
• Hands-on experience with cable harness and wiring assembly techniques.
• Familiarity with electrical and electronic components, including testing methods and equipment.
• Understanding of quality standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, ISO 9001).
• Ability to use inspection tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, calipers, etc.) and automated optical inspection (AOI) systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Education & Experience:

• Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in Electronics/Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
• Experience: 2+ years in quality control or assembly roles, specifically in PCB, cable harness, and electrical/electronics components inspection.
